The ideal candidate will assist in all areas of marketing lead generation and marketing support.
Responsibilities
Financial Integrity: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely GAAP-compliant financial statements.
Inventory & COGS: Manage complex inventory accounting, including valuation, obsolescence reserves, and cost of goods sold for our curated monthly boxes.
Subscription Revenue: Oversee high-volume transaction reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of our recurring revenue streams.
Compliance & Tax: Manage multi-state sales tax compliance (e.g., via TaxJar or Avalara) and coordinate with external firms for annual tax filings and potential audits.
Process Optimization: Scalability is the goal. You will identify inefficiencies in our current workflows and implement automated solutions for AP, AR, and expense management.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a small accounting team (Staff Accountant/AP Clerk), fostering a culture of accuracy and professional growth.
Qualifications
Experienced: You have 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with at least 2 years in a retail, e-commerce, or subscription-based environment.
The "Numbers" Person: You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA or CMA is a major plus.
Tech-Savvy: You’re a power user of Excel (v-lookups and pivots are second nature) and have experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar).
Adaptive: You thrive in the fast-paced, sometimes chaotic energy of a high-growth startup. You don't just find problems; you bring the solutions.
