What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environment, Health and Safety Manager position at Pivotal Recruitment Ltd?
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all site EHS programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations, including process safety management (PSM) for chemical operations.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (e.g., HAZOP, JSA), and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee incident investigation processes, root cause analysis, and reporting; ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Manage environmental compliance programs, including air emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste, and chemical storage.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and contractors.
- Lead emergency response planning, drills, and coordination with local emergency services.
- Monitor safety performance metrics, conduct audits and inspections, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and lead site inspections and audits.
- Support capital projects and operational changes through Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership engagement and employee involvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (chemical manufacturing experience preferred but not required).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards; familiarity with EPA regulations and process safety management (PSM) is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with incident investigation, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and drive cultural change.
Salary : $90,000 - $160,000
