What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Materials Inspector position at Pivot Workforce?
The Material Inspector will support the Project Quality team by overseeing material inspection control, documentation, and coordination for a new fabrication facility. This role ensures that all materials meet project specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections on delivered and installed materials per approved submittals and specifications.
- Review and verify Material Test Reports (MTRs), Certificates of Compliance (CoC), and Mill Test Certificates (MTC).
- Coordinate material sampling and testing with third-party agencies.
- Prepare and submit Material Inspection Reports (MIRs) for review and approval.
- Maintain inspection logs, including pass/fail records and corrective actions.
- Upload inspection data and documents into the Construction Project Management System (CPMS).
- Monitor on-site material storage, labeling, and handling practices.
- Support the issuance and closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Collaborate with QA/QC teams, contractors, and client representatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or higher; associate degree preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
Preferred Experience:
- Background in semiconductor or high-tech industrial construction.
- Familiarity with QA/QC systems and reporting procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field a plus.
