Are you passionate about high-quality bakery products and enjoy hands-on work? Pittsford Farms Dairy, a long-standing, family-owned dairy and food business, is seeking a baker to join our team. In this role, you’ll help produce our bakery items in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Our most popular bakery items include croissants, muffins, cookies, dessert pastries and pies.
This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and enjoys a physically active role while working closely with a small, dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake high quality, made from scratch baked good, including croissants, cookies, dessert pastries, pies and seasonal specialties
- Mix, laminate, shape, proof, bake and finish products to our established recipes and quality standards
- Ensure consistency in flavor, texture, appearance and presentation
- Assist with production planning to meet daily production goals
- Collaborate with the bakery team to improve recipes, production methods and seasonal offerings
- Manage inventory, rotate ingredients using first in first out practices
- Properly operate, clean and maintain bakery equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary production area
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a baker or in pastry
- Passion for baking and creating exceptional products
- Experience with laminated doughs
- Knowledge of scratch baking techniques
- Experience producing cookies, pies and dessert pastries from scratch
- Ability to accurately follow recipes and scale ingredients
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to lift 15–25lbs and stand for extended periods
- Culinary or pastry education is a plus, but not required
Schedule:
- Full-time position
- Early morning start time (4:00–5:00 AM)
- Weekend availability required
