Press Operator – Plastic Injection Molding
POSITION OVERVIEW
A growing plastic injection molding manufacturer in Pittsfield, MA is seeking Press Operators to join our production team. The Press Operator is responsible for inspecting, assembling, and packaging molded plastic parts while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
This role supports daily manufacturing operations by ensuring parts meet quality standards and production requirements. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided for the right candidate.
This is a full-time hourly position with overtime opportunities and openings available on 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review work orders and work instructions to understand required production tasks.
- Package molded plastic parts according to work instructions and quality standards.
- Assemble products as required by the job specifications.
- Inspect production parts for defects and ensure quality standards are met.
- Rework parts when necessary to correct defects.
- Verify that scales and equipment used at assigned presses are properly set.
- Communicate defects, machine issues, or production concerns to supervisors, processors, or quality personnel.
- Complete all required production and quality paperwork accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional production tasks as requested by supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- No prior experience required; manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect parts for quality.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
