The Pittsfield Housing Authority is seeking a full-time Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) to support residents across eight public housing developments, serving 535 households of state-assisted rental housing for seniors, persons with disabilities, and families. The RSC plays a critical role in promoting resident stability, independence, and quality of life. This position involves direct resident engagement, resource coordination, and strong collaboration with PHA staff and local community agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the needs of residents and develop plans to support housing stability, independence, and well-being.
- Identify and connect residents with programs, services, and opportunities that meet their individual or household needs.
- Maintain all required data, documentation, and reporting in accordance with PHA and state guidelines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community service providers, nonprofits, and support agencies.
- Collaborate closely with PHA staff on resident issues, tenancy preservation, safety concerns, and community-building initiatives.
- Provide outreach, follow-up, and advocacy for residents as needed.
- Support on-site programming, workshops, and events that enhance resident engagement and self-sufficiency.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Human Services, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in social services or related programs, preferably in a residential or housing setting (all relevant experience considered).
- Innovative, creative, patient, friendly, and committed to serving a diverse population.
- Strong knowledge of community resources and the ability to motivate and engage residents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency required.
- Driver's license required.
