Pittsburgh Tomorrow Leadership Corps (PTLC)
Program & Engagement Manager (Entry–Mid Level)
Location: Allegheny County, PA (hybrid; significant in‑person event work required)
Organization: Pittsburgh Tomorrow
Program Overview
The Pittsburgh Tomorrow Leadership Corps (PTLC) is a county‑wide initiative designed to develop high‑school students as civic‑minded leaders while deepening their affection for—and long‑term commitment to—Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. Through hands‑on conservation projects, curated seminars, and partnerships with leading educational, cultural, governmental, and technology institutions, PTLC introduces students to the people, places, and opportunities shaping Pittsburgh’s future.
PTLC is intentionally partnership‑driven. We recruit and engage students, coordinate participation, and manage relationships—but our programming is delivered by best‑in‑class partners, including universities, museums, nonprofits, government agencies, and technology companies.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on professional with experience in event planning, youth or community programs, CRM‑driven communications, and grassroots outreach—someone equally comfortable prospecting with school leaders, managing logistics, and working directly with students on the ground.
Core Responsibilities
Student Recruitment & Engagement
- Design and execute student acquisition strategies for PTLC, including school outreach, youth‑organization partnerships, digital communications, and referral incentives.
- Build direct relationships with high‑school students across Allegheny County using CRM tools, SMS, and email communications.
- Develop and manage student incentive programs (e.g., referral rewards, attendance recognition, leadership badges, or prizes).
- Maintain accurate student records, consent documentation, and participation data within the CRM.
School & Community Outreach

Parent Communications & Marketing
- Develop clear, compelling communications for parents highlighting PTLC’s leadership, educational, and civic value.
- Support marketing campaigns (email, digital flyers, school newsletters, social channels) targeted at parents and guardians.
- Serve as a point of contact for parent questions related to program value, safety, logistics, and outcomes.
Program Coordination (Partner‑Led)
- Coordinate PTLC participation in existing partner events (e.g., conservation clean‑ups, tree‑planting initiatives).
- Work with partners to schedule and host PTLC‑specific seminars, including:
- College, university, and vocational admissions (Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, others)
- Pittsburgh history (Heinz History Center)
- Government, elected office, and civic service (City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County)
- Technology, AI, and robotics (local technology companies and research institutions)
- Manage calendars, registrations, attendance tracking, and partner logistics.
Event Execution & On‑Site Leadership
- Serve as the on‑site PTLC lead for events and seminars.
- Coordinate student check‑in, attendance verification, engagement, and follow‑up.
- Ensure students represent PTLC professionally and adhere to program expectations.
- Troubleshoot issues in real time and ensure a high‑quality student experience.
Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track participation metrics, recruitment effectiveness, attendance rates, and partner engagement.
- Provide regular reports and insights to Pittsburgh Tomorrow leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment funnels, communications, incentives, and student experience.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in event planning, program coordination, youth programs, community engagement, or marketing.
- Demonstrated experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Airtable, or similar) and direct‑to‑participant communications.
- Comfort prospecting and building relationships with school administrators, educators, nonprofit leaders, and community partners.
- Experience coordinating or supporting live, in‑person events.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to be hands‑on and present at events, including evenings or weekends as needed.
