Lead Maintenance Technician

Pittsburgh Special-T Dairy LLC., a family-owned company, is seeking a Full-Time Lead Maintenance Technician. This position will assist in the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery, HVAC, building lighting system, and safety and security system. Must have more than 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing field. This is a full-time job working a minimum of 40 hours per week on-site, Monday through Friday, weekends as needed. Dairy processing operates on tight timelines. This role requires a high degree of scheduling flexibility, including unpredictable overtime to resolve urgent mechanical issues and to protect product quality.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment as needed.
• Maintain the facility so that it meets OSHA standards and requirements.
• Tear down equipment, rebuild, and replace defective parts and components.
• Reassemble and make final equipment adjustments.
• Perform preventative maintenance to avoid downtime.
• Maintain an appropriate inventory of maintenance supplies.
• Snow & ice removal for the facility and grounds.

Requirements:

• High School / GED / Trade School diploma required.
• 3 or more years of past plant maintenance experience required.
• Mechanical background/experience required.
• Ongoing education of machinery, best practices, and OSHA regulations (attending classes or seminars).
• Computer literate: Ability to use Microsoft Office Programs.
• Detail-oriented and the ability to organize.
• Solid background and understanding of electrical systems and diagnostics.
• Must have basic metalworking skills, including welding, cutting, braising, torching, etc.
• Must understand or be willing to learn hydraulics, pneumatics, steam boilers, ammonia systems, plumbing, and other various building, facility, and equipment maintenance.
• Must be able to work well with others and maintain a professional attitude.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods of time in both hot/wet and cold environments.
