POSITION TITLE
Adjunct Teacher, Dance
Job Description Summary
The Modern Dance Adjunct Teacher is directly supervised by the Principal and will work with CAPA's Dance Majors ranging in grades 6-12 and will collaborate with other dance faculty on daily technique classes, departmental projects, choreography, student showcase, 8 th grade July preparation, yearly auditions and departmental fundraising. This position will work 15 hours per week at a competitive hourly rate with no health benefits.
The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching all styles of dance, a BA or BFA in dance alongside performance and career experience. Applicants will inspire and bring enthusiasm to students from a wide range of backgrounds and instill a positive attitude towards dance for all. Interested applicants should send a letter of interest, CV, teaching resume and one choreographic sample video.

Certification/Licensure Required

Essential Functions
- Teaching dance technique classes five days a week alongside choreographing for all upcoming performances.
- Teaching one Dance Academic Course based on grade level.
- Assisting students with the creation of rich and diverse choreography as well as ways to prepare students for the High School Dance Department.
- Collaborate with team on scheduling, performances, masterclasses, and fundraising.
- Regular communication with students, parents and other CAPA Dance Department staff to share artistic progress, encourage positive behavior, and resolve behavioral and artistic issues.
BA / BFA in Dance or Pedagogy Practices
Certification/Licensure Required
