Press Brake and Laser Programming

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Press Brake and Laser Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating press brakes and laser cutting machines to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint interpretation, and tooling will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficient production workflows. Duties

• Program, set up, and operate press brake machines for bending and forming metal parts with precision, utilizing CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar controls.
• Develop laser cutting programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to optimize cutting paths and material utilization.
• Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), to ensure accurate fabrication of parts.
• Adjust machine parameters and tooling configurations to achieve specified tolerances and surface finishes.
• Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of CNC machinery including laser cutters, press brakes, CNC milling machines, lathes, and related equipment.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions against specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement lean manufacturing principles that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
• Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, production logs, inspection reports, and process adjustments for quality control purposes.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar control systems used in press brake and laser machinery.
• Proficiency with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks or CATIA for interpreting drawings and creating program files.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and geometric measurements essential for precision manufacturing.
• Experience with CAM programming software tailored for laser cutting operations to maximize efficiency and material savings.
• Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of tooling selection, setup procedures, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to foster continuous improvement in production processes.
• Ability to operate precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMMs, bore gauges, and other measurement tools accurately.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics related to CNC machinery operation and maintenance.
• Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, angles, and geometric relationships necessary for precise fabrication.
