Our Pittsburgh Intermodal Terminal (PIT) in Ambridge, PA, is a 37-acre, full-service facility offering barge, rail, and truck off-loading, reloading, and storage. We also provide value-added services, including welding and fabrication.
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to support our shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a commitment to customer service, and a willingness to take on various tasks. Prior experience is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Process and verify work orders, bills of lading, and shipment documentation
- Assist customers with inventory tracking and reporting
- Maintain compliance with company standards, procedures, and safety regulations
- Identify and report any operational issues
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented office environment
- Ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Access, and other tools for record-keeping and reporting
- Support general office tasks and operations as needed
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic
- Previous shipping/receiving experience is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Access required)
- Ability to read and process work orders and bills of lading
- Prior experience in shipping/receiving or logistics is a plus
