Under general direction of the Director of Special Education, provide overall program and technical assistance, coordinates staff development as requested. Fully paid Dental, Vision, & Medical at the Kaiser Family Rate
Requirements / Qualifications
Special Education Credential Master's Degree in Education, applied behavioral sciences, psychology, or related fields. AND Administrative Credential ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Observes, consults with and assists resource specialists designated instruction service providers, psychologists and special day class teachers • Plans and coordinates programs, curricular resources and assists in evaluating the effectiveness of programs for individuals with exceptional needs • Provides coordination, consultation and program development in assigned areas • Assists in planning and implementation of staff development, program development and innovation of special methods and approaches at site, district and SELPA levels • Assists in supervising and evaluating assigned personnel • Participates as a member of the IEP team as appropriate • Assists special education personnel in implementing and coordinating services in the IEP • Responsible for monitoring curriculum, material and methodology in area(s) of expertise • Services as a resource in the identification, selection and use of instructional materials • Assists in the articulation of special education programs between preschool, elementary, junior high and high school • Maintains knowledge of current laws and regulations pertaining to individuals with exceptional needs through attendance at meetings, in-service programs, conferences, and reading current literature • Participates in compliance, focused monitoring and technical assistance reviews • Provides leadership in the development of a comprehensive inclusion plan for District special education students to ensure their maximum participating within the general education curriculum
