Job Summary
We are seeking an outgoing, dependable, and customer-focused Counter Sales Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for managing counter sales, supporting customer needs, and ensuring a high level of service for both walk-in and call-in customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting walk-in customers, plumbers, and contractors at the sales counter; identify needs, recommend products, and complete accurate sales transactions
- Process sales orders, special orders, and returns with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Coordinate product orders, arrange deliveries, and communicate order status updates to customers in a timely manner
- Act as a liaison between customers and warehouse operations to ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment
- Pull and stage orders as needed to support daily operations and delivery schedules
- Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide product knowledge in a professional and helpful manner
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked counters and showroom areas
- Assist with receiving shipments, verifying quantities, and stocking inventory in designated locations
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing shelves, building displays, and monitoring inventory levels
- Operate point-of-sale systems, handle cash transactions, and run daily sales reports
- Ensure purchase orders and related documentation are completed accurately and on time
- Collaborate with team members, vendors, and management to support overall branch performance
Qualifications
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and team members
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with sales order systems
- Knowledge of plumbing products and industry practices preferred
Education & Experience
- 1–2 years of sales experience in plumbing, HVAC, or a related industry
- Experience with Epicor Eclipse software is a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
