Infant Teacher (Full-Time)

Job details

We are seeking a full-time (30-40hrs/week) teacher to lead our infant classroom. Business hours are Mon-Fri 7:45am-5:15pm.

Prerequisites

• 12 core semester units in early childhood education
• Minimum 3 semester units related to infant care
• 6 months of experience with children under the age of 5

OR

• 3 completed semester units of early childhood education
• 3 completed semester units of infant care
• Enrolled in at least 2 semester units until fully qualified

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration.
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages children's natural curiosity.
• Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians on their development.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to support a collaborative learning community.
• Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among students.
• Organize activities that enhance physical, emotional, and social skills in alignment with developmental milestones.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom space that meets health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other educators to share best practices and improve teaching strategies.

Skills

• Experience in a classroom or daycare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of infant care, toddler care, or babysitting is beneficial for understanding the developmental needs of young children.
• Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is a plus, ensuring an inclusive environment for all students.
• Strong behavior management skills to effectively guide children's interactions and learning experiences.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and staff effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence in lesson planning and execution.
• A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth through creative teaching methods.
