Position Summary
The Grades 35 Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS). The teacher creates a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and student success. The teacher collaborates with colleagues, families, and stakeholders to ensure all students receive high-quality instruction and support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and implement standards-based instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Develop engaging lessons using a variety of instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of learners.
Utilize assessment data, including classroom assessments, benchmarks, and state assessments, to drive instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with disabilities, English language learners, academically gifted students, and students requiring intervention.
Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and student engagement.
Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
Monitor and document student progress and communicate academic performance with students, parents, and school personnel.
Collaborate with grade-level teams, Professional Learning Teams (PLTs), instructional coaches, and administration to improve teaching practices and student achievement.
Participate in school improvement initiatives, professional development, and district-required training.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other student information in accordance with district and state policies.
Integrate technology effectively into instruction to enhance learning experiences.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and accomplishments.
Support school activities and perform other duties as assigned by administration.
