Job Summary
This is a traveling job! We are seeking entry level candidates or college students who want to join the Exploration, Mining, Oil & Gas industry! This is a seasonal position, working in remote sites all around Alaska helping out our Geologists and Core cutters by data analysis before core gets cut, and before the Geo's examine the minerals. You will be expected to work 2-3-week work hitches, working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. Meals, Lodging and/or Per Diem will be provided for you during travel and workdays.

Job Responsibilities:
· Reports to the Project Geologist
· Work closely in support of the logging geologist to process drill core.
o Core washing and sanding
o Recording sample Rock Quality Designation (RQD)
o Recording sample recovery percentages
o Stacking/unstacking core
· Maintain a high-Quality Assurance/Quality Control standard in order to keep samples properly organized, labeled and catalogued
· Accurate data entry into spreadsheets
· Occasional assistance with core cutting.
· Maintain a daily progress record.
· Maintain a commitment to health and safety.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
· Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety.
· Able to take instructions and communicate with co-workers.
· Able stand for long periods of time, lift loads up to 50 pounds.
· Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus.
· Ability to travel to and live in primitive remote work sites for up to 6 weeks.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
· A valid driver’s license is preferred, but not required.
· Prior geology or related earth science education is an asset, but not required.
· Experience in exploratory geology, mining or rock/soil sampling is an asset, but not necessary.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
