Position Overview: The Environmental Engineer/Environmental Engineer Assistant is responsible for ensuring compliance with all required environmental regulations as they pertain to Pitlik & Wick, Inc.’s industrial facilities and construction projects. This includes hot mix asphalt, nonmetallic mining, and ready-mix concrete facilities, and road construction projects.
This position is full-time with benefits and involves both office and field work, Monday thru Friday, with occasional Saturdays and overtime dependent on project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure thorough and efficient compliance with vast array of environmental regulations related to fields previously listed.
- Assist with obtaining required air, stormwater, and wastewater permits for plant sites and construction projects.
- Prepare and write SWPPPs, coordinate and perform stormwater and wastewater compliance including inspections, sampling, recordkeeping and employee training.
- Assist with emissions reporting, perform visible emissions testing, coordinate stack testing and recordkeeping.
- Assist in maintaining records, reports and submittals to local, state and federal agencies.
- Conduct inspections and audits of industrial facilities and construction sites to ensure adherence to applicable permits and regulations.
- Collaborate with co-workers and work closely with Environmental Director and plant and site personnel to ensure seamless integration of environmental compliance within operational processes.
- ·Assist in training employees on environmental regulatory compliance, permits, procedures and recordkeeping.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, or Construction Management; or Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management; or Related Work Experience.
- Spring 2026 graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to walk, climb, and navigate uneven terrain and steep hills; must be able to bend, shovel, lift 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness and ability to work in diverse weather conditions.
Experience and/or Skills:
- Compliance experience within industries listed a plus.
- CAD experience and ability to read construction plans and documents a plus.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
