What are the responsibilities and job description for the College Internship - Finance position at Pitkin County?
The Intern for Pitkin County will join an assigned department or division of Pitkin County for the purpose of gaining industry experience in a career path aligned with their chosen field of study at a post high school level of education. Internships may be conducted on site, remotely or hybrid. All work must be conducted within the State of Colorado.

- Shadow Pitkin County employees for the purpose of gaining industry experience.
- Complete designated assignments as determined by the school curriculum.
- Assist Pitkin County staff in assigned department or division with daily tasks as requested.
- Participate in general office duties to include but not limited to data entry, scanning, filing and recording documents; conducting phone calls and interacting with the general public.
- Maintains reliable attendance record.
- Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate school program with major course work in a field related to the assigned department.
- Must be resident in Colorado for the duration of the internship.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
- Safety policies, procedures, and practices for industry standards.
- Customer service techniques
- Basic knowledge of office record keeping procedures.
- Organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks.
- Microsoft Office Products and Google Suite to include word processing, presentations and spreadsheets.
- Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
