Responsibilities
- Process retail sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems while handling cash, credit cards, and digital payments with confidence.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections or demos.
- Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and displays are appealing.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Manage stock levels by assisting with merchandising, stocking shelves, and inventory counts as needed.
- Demonstrate products to customers when appropriate, highlighting features and benefits to encourage purchases.
- Practice excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings is a plus.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing registers at shift end.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced setting.
