Responsibilities
- Restock shelves efficiently, ensuring products are organized, properly labeled, and visually appealing to customers
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions quickly and smoothly
- Assist customers with product inquiries, offering product demos and upselling when appropriate to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, stockroom, and checkout area
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with proper cash handling procedures
- Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering customer questions or assisting with store information
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays and ensuring products are well-presented and accessible
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; training provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
- Basic math skills for cash handling, POS operations, and retail math calculations
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a grocery store or retail environment with attention to detail
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks required in stocking duties
