Duties
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer their questions, and provide product information or demos when needed
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision and confidence
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and properly merchandised
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and inventory management to ensure product availability
- Practice excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting remote customers
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for handling transactions accurately
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for cash handling and sales transactions
- Experience with upselling techniques, and merchandising strategies will set you apart
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service with friendly phone etiquette and proactive problem-solving skills
