Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Director of Production and Sourcing to oversee our PD, Production and QA teams. The candidate must be a leader that could elevate our production capabilities and drive operational excellence. Also, this executive role demands a deep understanding of apparel manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and quality assurance having a robust background in managing large-scale apparel production, coupled with a strategic vision to optimize and grow our production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive production strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives and vision. Lead and apply initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and innovation.
Operational Management: Oversee Time and Action calendars, Seasonal Line Plan including manufacturing planning, scheduling, and quality control. Ensure timely production delivery.
Product Development Collaboration: Partner with PD, design and merchandising teams to translate creative concepts into manufacturable products ensuring design integrity and feasibility in production.
Supply Chain and Sourcing: Coordinate with Operations and Raw material dept (Fabrics manager) to ensure the availability of materials and components specific to production. Optimize vendor relationships.
Cost Management: Oversee the development and production budget and implement cost-control measures tailored to manufacturing. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising product quality or delivery schedules.
Team Leadership: Build and lead high-performing teams. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that supports professional growth and skill development.
Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards in-house and overseas. Implement continuous improvement practices to enhance product quality and reduce manufacturing defects.
Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with design, merchandising, operations teams, sales, and distribution teams to ensure alignment on product development, production schedules, and market launches.
Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, ethical standards, and environmental guidelines. Drive initiatives to promote sustainable manufacturing practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in fashion Production, Supply Chain or Sourcing, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role within the apparel industry. Proven expertise in large-scale apparel manufacturing at a company.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multiple apparel teams. Strong skills in team building, conflict resolution, and motivation.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex production concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with data-driven decision-making and process optimization in apparel manufacturing.
- Extensive knowledge of apparel production processes, including, garment finishing, and quality control.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment specific to the apparel industry. Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and market trends.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Supply Chain Management, Business Administration).
- Advanced degree preferred.
