Mobile Hydraulic Hose Technician & Mechanic

Pirtek Field Mechanics replace hydraulic hoses and on customer equipment at the customer's site. Each technician has an assigned territory where they build and maintain customer relationships. This includes determining the cause of leaks, replacing hoses, visiting the customer's shop to determine their needs, and explaining what we do to potential customers.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

• Mechanical repair work: Remove and replace hoses and tubing from light and heavy construction and manufacturing equipment
• Building and maintaining customer relationships: Visit customers, determine their needs, and explain our services
• Service, assemble and install hoses for a diverse customer’s base
• Carry out service calls in the local area (Indiana area)
• Develop new business & relationship with new customers during down times daily
• Must be available to be “on call” (after regular hours) on a rotation basis one week per month

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one year experience in a trade involving mechanical repair or assembly
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Ability to park commercial van near your home
• Own hand tools
• Excellent Communication & Interpersonal Skills
• Positive attitude & Self-motivated
• Sound organization and planning skills
• Clean driving record

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)

Preferred:

• Three years of experience in a trade with skills and knowledge of hydraulic hose and/or tubing installation and repair
• Three years of experience in a customer-facing role, such as customer service or sales
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with mechanical or hydraulic equipment

As a PIRTEK Hydraulic Hose Technician & Mechanic, you will be operating out of a purpose-built mobile workshop/van and be carrying out service calls in the local area. This provides the opportunity to develop relationships with new and existing customers.

Successful candidates will be fully trained to operate a purpose-built PIRTEK service van fitted with specialized equipment designed to fabricate flexible hose assemblies on site.
