What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at Pirates Cove Restaurant and Dock Bar - Galesville?
General Responsibilities
• Greet every person who walks through the door promptly with a warm friendly welcome and smile.
• Seat each guest at an appropriate size table and be sure each filled seat has the appropriate setting of 1 silverware wrap and 1 plate.
• Remove extra settings if the seat is not being used and return them to there appropriate place at the server station.
• Promptly and politely answer each phone call.
• Take carry out orders as needed, ensure all appropriate questions are asked and promptly deliver the order to the bar.
• Properly manage reservations for the dining room.
• When applicable manage waitlist and properly use pagers.
• Appropriately address each situation presented to you by supplying the answer or by directing the customer to a person who can supply the answer.
• Recognize and thank every customer as they leave the restaurant.
Qualifications / Job Requirements:
• Customer service background or experience working with the public.
• Be able to working in a standing position for long periods.
• Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Must have exceptional grooming habits and knowledge of the proper etiquette and service standards.
• Must be self motivated and able to work without supervision.
• Must be able to take direction and be willing to learn.
• Must adhere to dress and grooming standards.
