Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Lead Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting. As a Lead Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for exceptional service and ensuring the delivery team is excelling on tasks.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and trucks, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations.
- Load and unload products at various locations, utilizing equipment such as hand trucks.
- Navigate assigned routes efficiently, adapting to any changes or obstacles that may arise during the delivery process.
- Provide outstanding customer service by interacting positively with clients during deliveries and addressing any concerns.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.
- Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including organizing inventory and preparing shipments for dispatch.
- Leading the delivery team and ensuring success.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Proven experience in route driving or delivery services is an advantage.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) consistently throughout the workday.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks is a plus.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
