Position Summary
The Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining press machinery to produce high-quality parts and products according to specifications. This position ensures production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or stamping press equipment.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production specifications.
- Load raw materials and remove finished products from the press.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Identify and report machine malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and quality control staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or press operation experience preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation in English required.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8 hours)
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment
- Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects
- Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.)
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
