Position Summary
The Hydro Tester is responsible for performing hydrostatic pressure tests on piping
components, expansion joints, and related equipment to ensure product integrity, safety, and
compliance with company and industry standards. This role works closely with Quality Control,
Production, and Engineering teams to verify that all products meet required specifications prior
to shipment.

Position Summary
The Hydro Tester is responsible for performing hydrostatic pressure tests on piping
components, expansion joints, and related equipment to ensure product integrity, safety, and
compliance with company and industry standards. This role works closely with Quality Control,
Production, and Engineering teams to verify that all products meet required specifications prior
to shipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform hydrostatic testing on piping products and assemblies according to specifications and procedures
- Set up test equipment, including pumps, gauges, valves, and hoses
- Fill test units with water or appropriate fluid and pressurize to required levels
- Monitor pressure readings and inspect for leaks, defects, or irregularities
- Record test results accurately and complete required documentation
- Tag and identify tested products (pass/fail status)
- Report defects or non-conformances to Quality Control and supervisors
- Assist with preparation and movement of materials before and after testing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the testing area
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of pressurized systems
- Support other production or shop tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 0 – 4 years of experience in manufacturing, testing, or industrial environment preferred
- Basic understanding of mechanical aptitude and understanding of pressure systems
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools
- Ability to read gauges, measurements, and basic drawings
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Strong communication, attendance, and reliability
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8 hours)
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment
- Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects
- Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings and fitness for duty test (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.)
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
