PIPESTONE – PAR (Pipestone Applied Research)
Looking to work hands-on with animals and be part of meaningful research? PIPESTONE is hiring a Part-Time Swine Research Technician to support our PAR team!
Position Objective
Perform daily animal husbandry and execute research trial protocols for PAR and its clients.
What You’ll Do
- Work with wean-to-finish pigs (10–320 lbs)
- Daily animal care and husbandry
- Maintain excellent animal health and biosecurity
- Load market hogs
- Collect data, diagnostics, and daily records
- Weigh pigs and assist with trial procedures
- Perform Feedlogic (feed delivery system) maintenance
- Ensure accuracy in all data and protocols
- Work most weekends
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma preferred (not required)
- Agriculture experience preferred (not required)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a rural agricultural environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Standing/walking 8–10 hours per day
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching
- Frequent lifting (3–20 lbs)
- Occasional lifting with assistance (up to 100 lbs)
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
