Piper Sandler is currently seeking an undergraduate intern for summer 2026 to support the Public Finance division in our Des Moines, IA office. Our public finance group provides underwriting and financial advisory services to state & local governments and not-for-profit entities. Supported by a broad national platform, our expert teams leverage localized knowledge to facilitate the issuance of taxable and tax-exempt debt across a range of sectors including state & local government, charter schools, cultural & social service nonprofits, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, project finance, K-12 school districts, senior living, and transportation. Responsibilities
The anticipated pay rate for individuals expressing interest in this position is $21 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Work within and potentially create Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Use certain industry-standard canned software to calculate debt schedules, sources & uses etc
- Review securities filings from governments in Iowa
- Occasionally attend meetings with senior staff; prepare Build information to support those meetings
- Assist Public Finance team with projects and assignments
- Excellent oral, written communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical ability
- Detail oriented
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel. Knowledge of Tableau is a plus but not required
- This internship opportunity is open to undergraduate students who graduate in summer 2027 through summer 2028.
