Piper Maddox is partnering with a leading global energy company to hire a Compliance Manager, Trade Surveillance for their North American trading operation in Houston.
This is a front-office-facing role overseeing trade surveillance across U.S. wholesale energy markets, ensuring compliance with FERC, CFTC, Dodd-Frank, and ISO market rules. You'll be the subject matter expert the trading desk relies on - monitoring for market abuse, advising on regulatory matters, and owning the surveillance program day to day.
What you'll be doing:
• Overseeing trade surveillance across ERCOT, PJM, and SPP covering FTRs, virtual offers, financial bidding, and exchange-traded products
• Monitoring for market manipulation, spoofing, wash trades, and cross-market abuse
• Managing and developing a small team (1-2 direct reports)
• Providing real-time compliance guidance to front office traders
• Managing surveillance alert systems and escalating findings to senior leadership
• Leading ISO compliance filings and regulatory assessments
