The business is a financially strong, institutionally backed platform with a proven history of developing and delivering long-term contracted renewable assets nationwide. With an expanding pipeline of utility-scale solar projects, they are continuing to scale their preconstruction capabilities.
As part of this growth, they are looking to bring on a Preconstruction Manager to support the transition of utility-scale solar and storage projects from late-stage development through EPC contracting and into construction.
As a Preconstruction Manager, you will lead the handoff from development into execution, ensuring projects are commercially, technically, and operationally ready to reach NTP and move into construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the transition of utility-scale solar and BESS projects from late-stage development through EPC contracting and into construction (NTP)
- Work cross-functionally with development, engineering, finance, and construction teams to define EPC scope, pricing, schedule, and execution strategy
- Own EPC RFP processes end-to-end, including RFP preparation, bid leveling, normalization, and contractor selection
- Support estimating, budgeting, and cost validation across a growing national project pipeline
- Develop construction execution strategies, procurement timelines, and project schedules
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless handoff from development into project delivery
- Evaluate contractor proposals, commercial terms, and schedule assumptions
- Identify and mitigate preconstruction risks prior to project mobilization
- Support continuous improvement of preconstruction, procurement, and estimating processes across the platform
Experience Required
- Strong experience in preconstruction, EPC management, or project delivery within utility-scale renewable energy
- Proven track record supporting utility-scale solar and/or BESS projects from development through NTP
- Experience owning EPC RFP processes, bid leveling, contractor negotiations, and award recommendations
- Strong understanding of estimating, construction schedules, and execution planning
- Ability to work cross-functionally across development, engineering, finance, and construction teams
- Experience within a developer, IPP, EPC, or owner’s representative environment
- Strong commercial and contractual understanding of EPC delivery models
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ideally based in Washington, DC, or open to relocation, though strong remote candidates will be considered
