Location: Denver (hybrid)

Salary Expectations: $250,000 - $270,000 bonus

Piper Maddox are partnered with a highly successful Independent Power Producer (IPP) driving the transition to a cleaner energy future. With a portfolio spanning solar & BESS, and with fantastic financial backing, they are pushing forwards with the growth of their team.

This business are looking to make their first internal GC hire to build strategy, process and play a key role in their growth efforts. Working directly with the executive board, and private equity partners, it is the opportunity to make a real impact on a incredibly exciting platform.

What you will do:

• Serve as the primary legal advisor to the CEO, CFO and the investors.
• Lead and manage all corporate legal affairs, including M&A, joint ventures, project development, financing, and operational matters.
• Negotiate, draft, and review complex agreements, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), EPC contracts, O&M agreements, interconnection agreements, supply agreements, and financing documents.
• Advise on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

What you will have:

• Background in financing of renewable energy assets (ideally BESS) including M&A, tax equity and debt financings.
• 7 years of industry experience, either BigLaw or renewable energy IPP / Developer.
• Extensive experience in renewable energy project development, financing, and operations.
• Strong experience with commercial contracts and regulatory compliance.
