Piper Maddox is partnered with a global environmental commodities trading firm, specializing in carbon, renewable energy, and clean fuel markets. This company helps clients navigate and monetize sustainability through market-based solutions, including tax credit transactions. They are seeking a Business Development Associate to join their growing U.S. renewable tax team!
Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the renewable energy transferable tax credit market
- Build and manage relationships with Fortune 1000 companies, institutional investors, banks, hedge funds, and private equity through both cold outreach and existing client networks
- Proactively source high-quality tax credit supply by engaging with renewable energy developers and infrastructure funds
- Deliver market insights, pricing guidance, and strategic recommendations to clients
- Lead deal execution and negotiations, partnering with internal teams including Legal and other product desks
- Oversee client onboarding and maintain a high standard of engagement throughout the client lifecycle
- Prepare meeting briefs and follow-up materials to support business development efforts
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new opportunities and strategically positioning our offerings
Qualifications:
- 0–3 years of experience in sales or business development
- Strong interest in renewable energy, financial markets, or tax equity / trading environments
- Demonstrated ability to close deals or drive transactions
- Solid analytical skills and the ability to conduct market research independently
- Proficiency with CRM tools, sales enablement platforms (e.g. ZoomInfo, LinkedIn), and light coding to streamline workflows
- Bachelor’s degree required; Finance, Business, or Tax-related fields preferred
