VP of Consumer Lending

Piper Companies is seeking a Vice President of Consumer Lending to support a rapidly growing credit union located in Hauppauge, NY. The Vice President of Consumer Lending will guide strategy, lending operations, and portfolio performance while driving innovation and ensuring a best‑in‑class customer experience. This position will be onsite 4 days per week in Hauppauge, NY!

Responsibilities of the Vice President of Consumer Lending:

•  Oversee loan operations, underwriting practices, credit policy, and regulatory compliance
•  Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the consumer lending portfolio across multiple product lines
•  Lead product strategy, pricing, and performance optimization
•  Partner with cross‑functional teams to implement technology and process improvements
•  Monitor portfolio health, customer trends, risk exposure, and profitability
•  Drive a culture of customer focus and operational excellence
•  Represent the lending function in executive leadership and enterprise planning
  
  

Qualifications of the Vice President of Consumer Lending:

•  Deep knowledge of consumer credit products, including personal loans, auto loans, credit cards, or home equity
•  10 years of progressive leadership experience in consumer lending
•  Strong understanding of credit risk management, loan operations, and compliance requirements
•  Proven experience leading high‑performing teams and large‑scale initiatives
•  Demonstrated success developing lending strategy and driving portfolio performance
•  Ability to analyze complex datasets and translate insights into strategy
•  Excellent communication and executive‑level presentation skills
•  Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  
  

Compensation for the Vice President of Consumer Lending includes:

•  Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
•  Salary range: $190,000 - $240,000
