Sr. Data Warehouse Developer

Piper Companies seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Developer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data warehousing solutions. This role is hands‑on and technical, with responsibility for building and maintaining scalable data platforms while providing mentorship and technical guidance to other developers. The ideal candidate has strong experience developing data warehouses, building ETL/ELT pipelines, and supporting cloud‑based data environments in Azure, with a focus on performance, governance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise‑level data warehouses
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple data sources
• Develop Python‑based data transformations, integrations, and automation
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data warehouse and analytics workloads
• Support and optimize Microsoft Fabric and associated Azure data services
• Tune and optimize database and data platform performance
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot complex data issues and lead incident resolution and root cause analysis
• Participate in initiatives migrating data systems and applications to Azure
• Manage data access controls, permissions, and security configurations
• Mentor associate and mid‑level developers and support best‑practice adoption
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions
  
  

Required Qualifications (Non‑Negotiable)

• Strong hands‑on experience with Python for data development and automation
• Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for data platforms
• Hands‑on experience working with Microsoft Fabric
• 5 years of experience in data warehousing, data engineering, or data platform development
• Advanced SQL and database performance tuning skills
• Experience designing and supporting ETL/ELT and data integration processes
• Experience with Azure services, including compute, storage, Azure AD, and resource management
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to lead complex issue resolution
• Experience mentoring developers or leading technical initiatives
  
  

Compensation/Schedule for the Mid-Level Platform Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $130,000/annually
• This is a full-time, hybrid position; 2 days a week is required onsite at either Fort Washington, PA
