Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to support a growing life sciences organization. This position is hybrid in Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC, with an expectation of working onsite three days per week.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a compensation partner to HR and business stakeholders on compensation-related initiatives and decisions.
- Conduct job evaluations, market pricing analyses, salary benchmarking, and FLSA classification reviews.
- Analyze compensation data and trends to support pay recommendations and workforce planning.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions, career pathways, and job architecture frameworks.
- Support annual merit planning cycles and compensation program administration.
- Participate in compensation surveys and analyze market competitiveness.
- Prepare compensation reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for leadership.
- Support maintenance and optimization of compensation systems and Workday functionality.
- Assist with compensation process improvements and departmental projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Psychology, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive compensation experience within an HR function.
- Experience conducting market pricing, job evaluations, and compensation analyses.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, data modeling, and large dataset analysis.
- Experience using compensation management tools such as PayFactors, MarketPay, CompAnalyst, or similar systems.
- Workday experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Master's degree in a related discipline.
- CCP, GRP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Experience supporting large-scale compensation projects.
- Experience within a publicly traded organization.
- Additional HR experience in Total Rewards, Benefits, Recruiting, or HRIS.
