What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Piper Companies?
Piper Clinical Solutions is currently seeking a Medical Billing Specialist in Rockville, MD to work with a leading Behavioral Health Enterprise Company. The Medical Billing Specialist will serve as a consultant to provide ongoing billing support to client agencies within the full revenue cycle.
Responsibilities of the Medical Billing Specialist:
- Collaborate with Partner Agencies to identify workflow discrepancies, billing inconsistencies and develop a work plan for improvement and correction
- Review of invoices for appropriate quantities, coding, charges, and rates as well as compliance with contractual obligations
- Work collaboratively with Partner Agencies to clean claims prior to batching
- Distribute invoices and other correspondence to both internal and external facilities to ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures
- Submit claims to insurance companies and third-party payers
Requirements for the Medical Billing Specialist:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in medical billing and collections
- 2+ years of EHR (Electronic Health Record) experience
- Knowledge of HIPPA guidelines/regulations preferred
- Knowledge of CTP and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems
- Experience working with insurance companies and third party including Medicare, Medicaid and MCOs
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required with experience
Compensation for the Medical Billing Specialist:
- Salary from $60,000 - $100,000 commensurate with experience
