Lead Azure System Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Lead Azure System Engineer, to support one of America's leading homebuilders. The Lead Azure System Engineer will lead the design and management of secure, scalable systems in Microsoft Azure, working with tech teams to build and improve cloud infrastructure using automation and best practices.

Responsibilities of the Lead Azure System Engineer include:

• Architect and manage secure, scalable Azure cloud systems to support business needs across various environments.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of cloud resources through proactive monitoring and optimization.
• Use Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Bicep to automate and maintain cloud infrastructure consistently.
• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to build hybrid solutions that integrate on-premises and cloud systems.
• Stay current with Azure advancements and best practices to continuously improve infrastructure design and drive innovation.
  
  

Qualifications for the Lead Azure System Engineer include:

• 4 years of hands-on experience working with Azure cloud environments in an engineering or similar role.
• Deep understanding of Azure service models like Serverless, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS to design effective cloud solutions.
• Proven experience implementing cloud security and cost optimization strategies using tools such as Azure Security Center and Azure Policy.
• Azure certification (minimum: Azure Administrator) is required to validate expertise in managing Azure infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required to ensure a strong technical foundation.
  
  

Compensation for the Lead Azure System Engineer include:

• Salary: $155,000 - $165,000
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays
