IT Technician (BMS/FMS Support)

Piper Companies is seeking an IT Technician (BMS/FMS Support) to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organization for an onsite permanent position located in Clayton, NC. The IT Technician (BMS/FMS Support) will serve as a critical link between operational technology systems, building automation platforms, and enterprise IT infrastructure, helping ensure reliable connectivity, system performance, and successful project execution across a large-scale manufacturing campus.

Responsibilities of the IT Technician (BMS/FMS Support) include:

• Support building management, facility monitoring, and related automation systems by troubleshooting connectivity, server, controller, and network-related issues.
• Partner with field vendors, controls technicians, and internal IT teams to configure, validate, and maintain communication between controllers, devices, and enterprise networks.
• Investigate and resolve networking issues involving IP addressing, subnetting, firewall rules, port configurations, and protocol communications.
• Perform hands-on support within IDF rooms and facility environments, including validating cabling, connectivity, infrastructure components, and equipment communications.
• Provide regular project status updates to business stakeholders and leadership while supporting successful implementation and ongoing operation of facility technology systems.
  
  

Requirements for the IT Technician (BMS/FMS Support) include:

• 4 years of experience in an IT support, field service, infrastructure, networking, or operational technology environment.
• Experience supporting IDF rooms, structured cabling, network troubleshooting, and physical infrastructure components.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, subnet masks, firewall troubleshooting, switch ports, and network communication fundamentals.
• Exposure to OT, industrial controls, building automation, facility monitoring, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical teams, vendors, business partners, and senior leadership.
• Basic IT certification such as CompTIA A , Network , or equivalent technical certification preferred.
  
  

Compensation for the IT Technician (BMS/FMS Support):

• Pay Rate: $60-$75 per hour
