The Field Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and documenting structured cabling systems across enterprise, data center, and telecom environments.

Responsibilities of the Field Engineer:
- Install, route, terminate, label, and test structured cabling systems, including copper (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A) and fiber optic cabling (single‑mode and multimode)
- Support OSP and ISP cabling projects, including conduit installation, handoff points, demarcation extensions, and backbone cabling
- Perform fiber splicing, patching, and testing using OTDR, power meters, and certification tools
- Install and maintain cabling for network hardware such as switches, routers, patch panels, racks, and cabinets
- Follow structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) and company documentation requirements
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues in coordination with network engineers, including understanding network paths influenced by routing protocols such as OSPF
- Support data center moves, adds, and changes (MACs)
- Collaborate with ISPs, vendors, and internal teams on cabling and network installation activities
- 1-2 years of experience working in a Cable Technician, Data Center or Field Engineer role in structured cabling, ISP/OSP, or data center cabling environments
- Hands‑on experience with copper and fiber cabling installation and termination
- Familiarity with OSP/ISP environments, including demarcation points and backbone cabling
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, VLANs, routing fundamentals such as OSPF)
- Data center experience strong preferred
- BICSI, FOA, or other cabling certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, or related field required
- Salary: $70,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience
