Industrial Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Pipeline Plastics is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the operation of our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial production equipment to maximize uptime and production efficiency.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience maintaining manufacturing equipment in an industrial environment and is comfortable diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Candidates with experience in plastics manufacturing, extrusion, CNC equipment, or similar industrial processes are highly preferred.

This position requires the flexibility to work overtime, weekends as needed, and participate in an on-call rotation for emergency equipment repairs.

Compensation is competitive and will be based on the candidate's industrial maintenance experience, technical knowledge, certifications, and demonstrated troubleshooting abilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment according to established schedules.
• Install, maintain, repair, and improve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Repair motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, valves, and other production equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all machinery is maintained in a safe operating condition.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and document repairs performed.
• Communicate equipment issues and repair status with production supervisors and plant leadership.
• Practice proper PPE usage and follow all OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, or injuries immediately.
• Safely operate forklifts, lifts, and maintenance equipment as required.
• Maintain an organized and clean maintenance shop and work area.
• Participate in company training and continually develop technical skills.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Strong industrial mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with manufacturing or production equipment.
• Working knowledge of:

  • Chains and sprockets

• Ability to diagnose equipment failures using systematic troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Strong understanding of lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to prioritize multiple repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, industrial maintenance certification, apprenticeship, or trade school education is preferred.

Preferred Experience

Required

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Highly Preferred

Experience maintaining:

• Plastic pipe extrusion equipment
• Plastic manufacturing equipment
• CNC machinery
• Industrial automation equipment
• Industrial pumps and compressors
• Hydraulic systems
• Pneumatic systems
• Industrial electrical systems (480V preferred)
• PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) (programming experience is not required but is a plus)

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and noisy manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work overtime and respond to emergency maintenance calls.
