About the Role
Pipe Wrench is seeking highly motivated individuals for our Sewer Install Technician position. The Lead is responsible for diagnosing and repairing drain issues as well as leading customers to informed and confident buying decisions. This position will also be responsible for operating a skid steer, excavator, and groundbreaker. This role requires maintaining a safe, clean and organized work environment while adhering to all safety and code requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead plumbing crews and oversee daily job-site operations
- Install, repair, and replace sewer, water, and gas piping
- Perform underground plumbing and utility installations
- Read and plan according to job specifications
- Operate mini excavators, skid steers, mini skid steers and bore rigs
- Safely excavating, trenching, backfilling, and grading job sites
- Locate and identify existing utilities
- Install PVC, PEX, gas piping, and other plumbing systems
- Perform connections, tie-ins, cleanouts, and testing
- Diagnosing and resolving field issues
- Coordinate with customers, inspectors, and other contractors
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Train and direct less-experienced employees
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company standards and applicable codes
- Load, secure, and transport equipment and materials as needed
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment
- Complete jobs efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of plumbing experience preferred
- Strong experience with sewer, water, and gas plumbing
- Experience operating excavation equipment
- Strong understanding and knowledge of OHSA standards
- Ability to read plans and understand elevations and grades
- Ability to lead a crew and work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- A CDL is not required for this position but is considered a plus
- Ability to safely back trailers and haul equipment
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to work
- Takes pride in workmanship and job-site appearance
- Able to adapt to changing job conditions and priorities
