Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Pipe Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic construction and manufacturing team. Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble piping systems in accordance with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards.
- Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and pipe welding using welding techniques to join pipes securely.
- Fit and assemble pipes using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, and other fabrication equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Install fire sprinkler systems, HVAC piping, plumbing lines, pipeline networks, and sprinkler systems following detailed construction plans.
- Conduct pipe threading, tube bending, soldering, and pipe installation tasks with precision to meet project specifications.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety regulations such as NFPA standards, OSHA guidelines, and site-specific safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members on rigging, assembly, maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless project progression.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pipe welding (MIG, FCAW, TIG) and pipefitting within construction or manufacturing environments.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of piping systems including installation techniques for sprinkler systems, HVAC piping, plumbing lines, and pipeline networks.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, schematics, and tube bending equipment.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards as well as NFPA standards related to fire sprinkler fitting and safety regulations.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary during fabrication and installation processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings quickly while maintaining high safety standards on busy construction sites.
- Prior experience working on construction sites or manufacturing facilities with a focus on pipe welding or fitting is highly desirable.
