Job Responsibilities
- Work order management: Receive, review, and prioritize incoming maintenance work orders, ensuring they are complete and accurate. Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, assets, and maintenance history.
- Detailed job planning: Develop comprehensive work plans for maintenance tasks, including step-by-step instructions, required tools, parts, materials, and safety procedures.
- Schedule coordination: Create and publish weekly and long-range maintenance schedules, coordinating with operations and other departments to schedule work during optimal times to minimize production disruption.
- Resource allocation: Forecast and secure necessary resources, including labor, equipment, and special services, for all scheduled maintenance activities.
- Materials and inventory management: Liaise with the purchasing and inventory control teams to ensure all required parts and materials are available before a job is scheduled to begin.
- Preventive and predictive maintenance: Manage the preventive maintenance (PM) program within the CMMS, ensuring tasks are scheduled, completed, and updated based on feedback from technicians and equipment performance data.
- Outage planning: Assist in developing and maintaining schedules for major site outages, turnarounds, and shutdowns.
- Performance monitoring: Track and analyze key maintenance metrics (e.g., schedule compliance, downtime, backlog) and generate reports for management to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuous improvement: Work with maintenance and reliability teams to analyze equipment failure data and refine job plans and maintenance strategies.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure all maintenance plans and schedules adhere to company safety policies and regulatory standards.
- High School Diploma or GED required; an advanced degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial setting, with at least 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related role. Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) preferred.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP, Maximo, or a comparable system.
- Strong technical knowledge of equipment, maintenance processes, and failure modes (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, etc.).
- Working knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordinating with various departments and providing clear instructions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
