What are the responsibilities and job description for the EVS Director position at Pioneers Medical Center?
Reports To: CEO
FLSA Classification, Exempt, Salaried, Full-Time
Essential Functions:
- Manage and coordinate processes for employees in their respective areas and shifts; Verify and approve work procedures in a matter that optimizes workflow; Assign appropriate duties and work to employees; Plan, coordinate, schedule, and assign work and establish a priority hierarchy for employees; ensure employee behavior complies with PMC guidelines.
- Monitor the inventory of department materials and coordinate with Materials Management and other appropriate parties to manage orders, budgets, and vendors; Aid In developing and recommending budget modifications for operating the department
- Assure that the needs of the hospital and its customers are met; Communicate with coworkers from other departments to establish appropriate EVS workflows; Conduct regular staff meetings.
- Coordinate with Human Resources for interviewing, selecting, and hiring new employees; Conduct department onboarding for new employees; Complete performance reviews, coaches, and issues disciplinary actions as appropriate with employees; Collaborate with Human Resources for other personnel actions, per policies
- Coordinate external services as appropriate to assist in the proper functioning of EVS operations.
- Actively coordinate service recovery efforts in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coach, mentor, and engage with staff to achieve optimal performance of the department and to consistently meet the goals of PMC and the department.
- Perform regular quality control checks, per PMC policies; Regularly inspect the physical condition of the facility; make recommendations to staff or Facilities Operations as appropriate for the correction of facility issue.
- Schedule major projects appropriately and ensure that staff, materials, and resources are available for the successful completion of those projects; Oversees the movement of furnishings and equipment as appropriate to improve the overall aesthetics and sanitation of the facility.
- Effectively work toward meeting and maintaining facility goals and objectives relating to third-party processes; Establish, track, and report performance metrics of the department; Uses metric data to assist staff in achieving operational excellence

Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree
- At least 10 years in Management Experience
- Sudexo or Aramark experience preferred
