ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – MAIN OFFICE Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School, 7-12, Public Charter School located in South Hadley, MAJob Description:PVPA has an opportunity for a professional Main Office Administrative Assistant starting immediately. We are looking for an organized, high-energy individual who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and working with students in grades 7-12 in a fast-paced environment. As the first point of contact you will be greeting all visitors to the school as well as triaging any staff and/or student issues. Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer you will:Greet school visitors and answer telephones, provide information, and answer questions in a friendly and welcoming mannerDemonstrate exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills working with faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members to facilitate clear and timely communicationPerform general office duties while always maintaining a business atmosphereMaintain main office records, sorting and filing in accordance with the school’s policiesRespond to a wide variety of calls and concerns for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to the appropriate personnelTriage student mental health needs as they arise, and communicate information to appropriate staff/administratorMaintain school calendar and scheduling of rooms for various meetings/eventsManage and perform duties relating to the school lunch program – including collaborating with South Hadley School’s Food Service Department for the State Match of low-income students and maintaining student counts for mealsMaintenance of student attendance records – ensuring confidentiality and compliance with laws governing confidentialityWorking with vendors to support optimal operation and functions in regards to all office equipment and copier machinesOther duties as requiredQualifications;The successful candidate will minimally hold a High School Diploma, Associates degree is preferred, be able to pass a background check (CORI/SORI & Fingerprinting), be able to provide evidence of successful prior experience working with students in grades 7 through 12, and be proficient in the use of technology and office equipment. Preferred experience working with PowerSchool, experience in a school setting and demonstrated ability to multi-task.Other Information/Instructions:This position follows the school calendar and works 200 days with hours from 7:30am – 3:30pm. Salary Range: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour dependent upon degree and experience. Potential for bonus at the end of the fiscal year.
