Position Summary:
Core Responsibilities:
The Laundry Aide is responsible for laundering facility linen and resident personal clothing.
Collects soiled linen and clothing from soiled utility rooms
- Separates and pre-treats items by color and nature of soil
- Launders and dries items
- Follows infection control procedures at all times
- Treats residents with dignity and respect at all times.
- Folds items and returns linens to inventory and resident clothing to their rooms.
Other duties as assigned
Housekeeping Assistant position is to perform scheduled housekeeping tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.
Essential Functions:
Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas on a daily basis and in accordance with Facility protocols.
- Uses proper chemicals in proper portions. May dust mop, wet mop, or spot-mop floors.
- Empties trash containers, replaces liners as appropriate and disposes of trash in proper receptacles.
- Vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
- Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment to wash and dry windows.
- Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
- Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
- Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
- Has reviewed facility Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee’s responsibility to enforce it.
Attends required in-services, understands, and complies with policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful.
- Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
High School Diploma or GED - must have documentation
