About the Opportunity

The Waste Treatment Technician is responsible for the daily running, monitoring and maintenance of the Waste Treatment system to meet business objectives and all regulatory standards.

• Please Note: Successful candidate must be available to train during a Swing Shift (12:00pm to 8:30pm) for the first 2 to 3 weeks
  
  

What You'll Do:

• Operate and maintain all environmental and wastewater equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensure pH and metal content compliance as required by applicable regulations (i.e, OCSD, etc.)
• Report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor
• Organize and manage hazardous waste per RCRA regulations
• Analyze wastewater samples
• Update, complete and maintain all pertinent documents and logs
• Performs other duties as needed
• Work overtime as assigned
  
  

What You'll Bring:

• Ability to work with process chemicals
• Ability to assess situations, identify issues, and develop effective solutions
• Beginner to intermediate mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• One year of environmental experience in a manufacturing environment
• RCRA DOT HAZMAT, HAZWOPER, forklift trained/certified
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Bilingual English/Spanish
  
  

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associates' degree in Chemistry (preferred)
• Two years of water treatment in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  
  

Please note that in addition to frequent standing and walking, the work environment requires lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds; as well as, twisting/turning, reaching over shoulder/head, reaching outward.

Schedule:

• Availability from 4am to 4pm
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime and Weekends as required

California Pay Range: $18 USD - $22 USD

The actual compensation offered is based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
