What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Specialist position at Pioneer Charter School of Science II-Lower?
Pioneer Charter School of Science II, a public charter school network with a track record for academic success, is accepting K-3 reading/literacy specialist applications. We are committed to inclusive education that reflects our school community. Reading/literacy specialists will work with Elementary staff to support students requiring more intensive reading instruction.
Responsibilities:
Lead literacy support classes
Collaborate with staff in planning intervention strategies and instructional activities for students
Help identify remedial instructional needs
Assist in the selection of appropriate materials utilized for corrective measures
Implement other intervention and instruction methods as approved or provided
Plan and conduct periodic evaluations to assess the effectiveness of instruction
Maintain working relationships with staff, students and parents
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher with a reading specialization or related field preferred
Licensure from MA DESE preferred
Experience working in a similar role
