We are seeking a dedicated Middle School Math Teacher for the 2026 to 2027 school year. This position is ideal for experienced educators who want to deepen their classroom impact, as well as individuals beginning a career in education who are excited to help students develop strong mathematical thinking and problem solving skills.
At PCSS, math instruction emphasizes conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and real world application. Teachers work within collaborative teams and receive strong instructional support from school leadership.
Position Overview
The Middle School Math Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous mathematics instruction to students in grades 6 through 8. Teachers design lessons that strengthen mathematical reasoning and encourage students to approach problems with confidence and persistence.
The successful candidate will create a structured classroom environment where students feel supported as they build their mathematical skills and understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and teach daily math lessons aligned with Massachusetts curriculum standards for middle school mathematics.
Design and administer assessments that measure student mastery of mathematical concepts and skills.
Use a range of instructional strategies to support diverse learners and varying levels of mathematical readiness.
Analyze student data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
Maintain a positive and structured classroom culture that promotes focus, collaboration, and perseverance.
Provide targeted support and enrichment to help all students achieve academic growth.
Communicate regularly with families about student progress and classroom learning.
Collaborate with grade level teams and school leadership to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices.
Participate in professional development and teacher training provided by the school.
Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate strong mathematical content knowledge and a commitment to helping middle school students develop confidence and proficiency in mathematics.
Minimum requirements include:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Massachusetts teacher license in Middle School Mathematics or a related content area by the first day of school.
Candidates who are not yet licensed but are interested in experiential teacher training are encouraged to apply, with the goal of becoming licensed within the first year of employment.
Strong background in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field is preferred.
